چکیده
Molecular genotyping of Mycobacterium tuberculosis allows for the identification circulating lineages and sublineages in population their relationship with migratory movements. The purpose this review is to describe phylogeography reported South American countries that was analyzed using tools, analyze Tuberculosis hotspots region determine impact COVID-19 pandemic on control program. Latin Mediterranean (LAM) sublineage belonging Euro-American lineage (Lineage 4) presents highest prevalence America followed by Beijing East Asian 2). considered worldwide interest because its association multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB), which almost entirely distributed America, Peru being country sublineage. On other hand, Indo-Oceanic 1), India-East Asia 3) West- African 2 6) have been lower America. molecular techniques used studies were as follows: typing complementary oligonucleotide spacer sequences (Spoligotyping), restriction-hybridization patterns (IS6110-RFLP, PGRS-RFLP), mycobacterial interspaced repeat units-variable number tandem repeats (MIRU-VNTR) whole genome sequencing (WGS). At present, Brazil are MDR-TB where wholly affected pandemic. Thus, there significant impacts containment programs possible post-pandemic scenarios such scientific contributions will need be evaluated implemented new strategies prevention, diagnosis, treatment Tuberculosis.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains of the Beijing genotype are rarely observed in tuberculosis patients in South America.
The frequency of the Beijing genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a cause of tuberculosis (TB) in South America was determined by analyzing genotypes of strains isolated from patients that had been diagnosed with the disease between 1997 and 2003 in seven countries of the subcontinent. In total, 19 of the 1,202 (1.6%) TB cases carried Beijing isolates, including 11 of the 185 patients from...
متن کاملVirulence in isoniazid-resistant clinical isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis from south India
Isoniazid, is the only antituberculous drug for which the relation between lack of virulence and acquisition of resistance was associated. INH-resistant mutants were shown to contain defective katG gene. Classical studies showed that INH-resistant south Indian isolates have lower virulence in guinea pigs and higher susceptibility to H2O2. It is of interest to assess the virulence in south India...
متن کاملDistribution and transmission of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex lineages among children in peri-urban Kampala, Uganda
BACKGROUND To gain insight into the transmission of tuberculosis (TB) in peri-urban Kampala-Uganda, we performed a household contact study using children as a surrogate for recent transmission of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). Using this approach, we sought to understand M. tuberculosis complex (MTBC) lineage diversity, distribution and how these relate to TB transmission to exposed children...
متن کاملPredominance of Ancestral Lineages of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in India
Although India has the highest prevalence of tuberculosis (TB) worldwide, the genetic diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in India is largely unknown. A collection of 91 isolates originating from 12 different regions spread across the country were analyzed by genotyping using 21 loci with variable-number tandem repeats (VNTRs), by spoligotyping, by principal genetic grouping (PGG), and by d...
متن کاملA STUDY OF MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS DRUG RESISTANCE IN PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS
Tuberculosis remains a major public health problem in both developing and developed countries. Drug-resistant tuberculosis is an increasing health problem and serious challenge to tuberculosis (TB) control programs. Information about the susceptibility pattern of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates against anti-tuberculosis drugs is an important aspect to TB control. The objectives of the s...
